Used to seeing The Rock kicking butt on the big screen? Well you’re in for a surprise when you see The Game Plan. I am guessing that he is trying to prove that he can play multiple roles instead of being the big action hero. Anyways, that is besides the point.
This is plainly put, a great family film. From the get go when I saw that The Rock was going to be in a family movie, I knew I had to see it. Too see for myself if he could pull it off, while maintaining his tough male ego.
The Rock and Madison Pettis, the little girl that played his daughter in the movie, had amazing on-screen chemistry. It felt like like she was actually his daughter at times. Don’t be surprised to find yourself wiping a tear or two away during the parts between him and his daughter. Well to say the least, the entire cast was sensational, from the knucklehead football team to the dog, Spike. Seeing Kyra Segdwick star in anything but The Closer was odd to me, but nonetheless she did a great job. Madison Pettis, even though being only nine years old, has an incredible amount of potential. It helps that she is adorable. The comedy is the movie was decent. It had a few slapstick moments, but there were surely times when I felt I was suppose to laugh but didn’t. The Game Plan is a must for anyone who enjoys a great family movie. Bring your kids!
There’s a lot more to this then meets the eye, so don’t just judge it by the trailer or reviews go decide for yourself.
I give it an 8/10.

Did you grow up with The Simpson’s? I certainly did, thus I am excited that the movie is finally coming out. Here’s a quick trailer:
Matt Groening has entertained us since he first started The Simpson’s on the Tracey Ullman Show in 1987. The first cartoons were actually just shorts on the Tracey Ullman Show, and they were so popular that a show of its own was finally demanded. June 10th 1989 TV Guide printed that The Simpson’s would finally get there own show. The Simpson’s is currently the longest-running American sitcom, and the longest-running American animated program.
Have you ever seen the first episodes? I must admit even by the drawing standards of the time they looked quite crappy, but hey at least Homer had more hair. Now, growing up with The Simpson’s we as children always knew that late at night we could watch a program and it would always inherit a laugh, but as we grew older it started to wear off. I would no longer have to plan around things to make sure I could watch the show. We all know what is going to happen in every episode; Bart gets in trouble, gets choked, Homer screws something at work up, gets fired, Mr. Burns tries to become more powerful but is stopped by Homer without him even knowing it.
The fact that the show is so predictable poses both a minus and plus. We all know what is going to happen in the movie, and thats why we want to see it. We want to see Bart get choked! We want to see Homer slam his head into something and say the classic “D’oh!”, and of course the part I want to see the most so far is …….”SPIDER-PIG!” since it is pure classic Homer humor.
Do I recommend this movie? - Well to answer that, do you like The Simpson’s?
How would I rate this movie as a comedy (amount of humor) - 5/10 - Once I see the movie I can give a better or worse rating.
How do I think it will be overall - 5/10 - I am only guessing that it will be a halfway decent movie as of yet. I have the feeling that they may stick to the “family” prime time comedy routine, and have to much of the same’ole same’ole.
Regardless of how the movie turns out, I think that after all this time it is deserved, and is a spectacular way to finally end.
