Used to seeing The Rock kicking butt on the big screen? Well you’re in for a surprise when you see The Game Plan. I am guessing that he is trying to prove that he can play multiple roles instead of being the big action hero. Anyways, that is besides the point.

This is plainly put, a great family film. From the get go when I saw that The Rock was going to be in a family movie, I knew I had to see it. Too see for myself if he could pull it off, while maintaining his tough male ego.
The Rock and Madison Pettis, the little girl that played his daughter in the movie, had amazing on-screen chemistry. It felt like like she was actually his daughter at times. Don’t be surprised to find yourself wiping a tear or two away during the parts between him and his daughter. Well to say the least, the entire cast was sensational, from the knucklehead football team to the dog, Spike. Seeing Kyra Segdwick star in anything but The Closer was odd to me, but nonetheless she did a great job. Madison Pettis, even though being only nine years old, has an incredible amount of potential. It helps that she is adorable. The comedy is the movie was decent. It had a few slapstick moments, but there were surely times when I felt I was suppose to laugh but didn’t. The Game Plan is a must for anyone who enjoys a great family movie. Bring your kids!

There’s a lot more to this then meets the eye, so don’t just judge it by the trailer or reviews go decide for yourself.

I give it an 8/10.

The Kingdom

Did you enjoy Black Hawk Down? If so, chances are you will love this movie.

First off, I would like to say that Peter Berg’s direction in this movie is sensational. Although the shaking camera angles in attempt to make it feel more ‘realistic’, can indeed get annoying. It still pulls of the feel of realism that you want when watching a movie about a modern Middle-Eastern war.

I went into this movie expecting either Americans are really good guys and the Saudi Arabians are bad guys or the other way around. What I got was a movie that delivered many great one-liners, some comedy, and US vs Terrorists. However, it was realistic in that the conclusion brought you back to the reality of the problems that the US deals with in not only Saudi Arabia, but also the rest of the Middle East and the more broader Global War on Terror. Special effects were really great, sound effects were awesome, there was a LOT of research into the movie to make the surrounding environment extremely accurate; however, there were a few minor points in which the plot seemed to drag just a tad bit. All in all, I liked this movie and I will see it again when it comes out on DVD.
